Description
The Shaputuan (the large gathering tent) offers you the millennial history of a nomadic people at the heart of their roots. The permanent exhibition, “Innu utassi (Innu land),” deals with the seasons and the Innu's annual life cycle. The institution of history and ethnology is also a place of meeting and fraternization between the Innu and other peoples.

The Shaputuan of Uashat's mission is to share Innu culture and foster dialogue between Aboriginals and non-Aboriginals through intercultural exchanges as well as actions aimed at young people from all the schools.
