Description
The creation of Aluminerie Alouette in Sept-Îles was officially announced on September 1, 1989. The smelter was built in less than three years and produced its first tonne of “grey gold” in June 1992. With over 900 employees and an annual production capacity of 630,000 tonnes of primary aluminium, Alouette is the largest employer in Sept-Îles and the largest aluminium smelter in the Americas.

Les visites estivales se déroulent de la mi-juin à la mi-août. Celles-ci ont lieu du mardi au samedi inclusivement, avec deux visites quotidiennes, à 9 h 00 et à 13 h 30. La durée de chaque visite est d’environ 2 heures.

The summer tours take place from mid-June to mid-August. They are held from Tuesday to Saturday inclusively, with two daily tours at 9:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Each tour lasts approximately 2 hours.
